WHAT IS SMP/MHP ?

Scalp Micro Pigmentation or Micro Hair Pigmentation as I like to call it is a non-invasive solution for thinning hair and hair loss . It’s sometimes also called a hair tattoo.

At Scalp Affects A Certified Skill Technician uses small thin needles to deposit tiny dots of Organic pigment into the epidermis of the scalp. These dots give the appearance of thicker fuller hair or the fresh look of a buzz cut.

SMP (Scalp Micro Pigmentation) is also a great solution for covering up surgical and hair transplant scars as well as treating cases for both men and women who may suffer from alopecia.

Women lose hair for a variety of reasons. Often it’s a hormonal imbalance which can manifest itself as a long term problem, although there are many shorter term causes too.

A recent pregnancy is a common cause, referred to as postpartum hair loss, or hair loss that can be traced back to a reaction to certain medications.

Alopecia is also common among women, a condition that takes many forms including alopecia areata (patchy hair loss), alopecia totalis (total hair loss on the head) or various types of diffuse thinning, often caused by a condition called telogen effluvium.

Whatever the root cause, scalp micropigmentation or soft density scalp shading for women is a solution that is suitable in many cases as it reduces the contrast in color from the hair to the scalp, creating a denser look and hiding much of the impact of hair loss in our female clients.

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1 > BOOK A CONSULTATION

During this consultation a certified specialist will assess your scalp and examine the extent of your hair loss or thinning. This will help us determine the best course of action and create a customized treatment plan that suits your unique needs.

STEP 2 > BOOK YOUR SPOT

After you are completely satisfied with the hair loss treatment plan – we schedule your treatment. Typically, you’ll require 2-5 sessions, scheduled 14-20 days apart to get a perfect result.

STEP 3 > IT’S TREATMENT TIME

The 1st session is used to lay the foundation of replicated hair follicles. After the first session, you will notice an immediate difference and a full look appearing. The 2nd and 3rd sessions are used to add additional layers of density to create the appearance of full, short hair, and eliminate any sign of hair loss.

We spend a lot of time blending into your existing hair for a seamless and natural look. We can make minor adjustments to the hairline in these sessions as well. After your final treatment, our practitioners will provide you with aftercare instructions and you won’t need to come back for around 4-6 years.
